Professional Interview FAQs |
How can I book a professional interview?
First, you’ll need to apply for a Chartered grade of membership or request an upgrade if you’re already a CABE member. Once you have paid the processing fee, the team will be in touch with guidance by email. You can then contact the Peer Review team directly to book an interview – these cannot be booked online.
Should I wait until my submission is ready to book my interview?
We would recommend that you identify and book an interview date prior to submission. Interviews book up months in advance, so it is best that you book and then complete your submission, working towards the specific submission date that corresponds to the interview date you have chosen.
How long before an interview date is the submission date?Submission dates fall around eight weeks prior to their corresponding interview date.
Where can I see the available Professional Interview dates? You can see available dates here. How do I know which route to Chartered Membership application I am eligible for?
Both routes will require a technical report submission – The relevant designation may be applied after you have been contacted by the Membership Team confirming that they have processed your Chartered Membership Chartered Member (MCABE) What do I need to include in my submission?
You can find everything you need to include within the guidance notes on pages 2-4.
What should my technical report look like? You can find examples of technical reports here.
Why do I need to complete a competency-based application form if I have already referenced the competencies throughout my report?
The more opportunities you have to demonstrate that you meet the CABE competencies, the more the panel can form a fuller picture of you as a candidate. How do I send my submission?
We no longer accept hard copy submissions. You should email your submission electronically to peerreview@cbuilde.com using a platform to transfer large files, such as OneDrive or WeTransfer.
What questions will I be asked in my Professional Interview? There is no set bank of questions, but you can see what the panel will generally be looking for on page 5 of the guidance notes.
