The CABE Competency Management System (CMS) is the perfect tool for professional self-assessment, making it easier to review your membership journey and structure your CPD.
What is the CMS?
The CMS serves as your personal competency record throughout your career. It supports self-reflection, making it easier to pinpoint the highest value CPD for you.
Why should I use it?
The CMS will provide you with a concise, transferable record of your competency, allowing you to identify gaps in your professional experience and your knowledge and plot your CPD to target those gaps.
By setting your objectives, the ‘what’ of self-assessment, it allows you to outline the ‘how’, creating a development journey. Think of CABE's Competency Framework as a global map; the CMS as your route planner, with your competency objectives as the destinations you want to visit and your CPD achievements as souvenirs.
"From a business and individual perspective, we found the CMS intuitive. It is a fantastic tool for supporting individual development whilst meeting CABE competency standards as team members work towards new or upgraded membership. For our organisation, it will also allow us to collate data as to where people sit in respect of their Registered Building Inspector competence, whilst demonstrating to auditors that 'people development' isn't just a soundbite."
Gary Cass FCABE, CEO, Hertfordshire Building Control
If you have any questions on how to use the CMS or how to maximise the potential it offers to all Members, please contact CABE at training@cbuilde.com.
