Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) was established in 1925, as the Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors (IAAS). The Association was set up with the aim to bring different specialisms of the industry together to
share skills, knowledge and ideas, an aim that is still at the forefront of the Association’s activities.
In 1993 the IAAS changed its name to the Association of Building Engineers (ABE) before becoming Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) in 2014.
Over the years, the Association has been honoured to have some of the industry's finest as our Presidents.
