Posted by: Lauren Almey

Today (16 October) sees the full publication of Professor Peter Bonfield's independent review of property flood resilience across England.

Entitled the FloodReady Report, and commissioned in January 2025 by the Environment Agency, the document puts forward strategic themes and several recommendations which together form an action plan for UK government in building the resilience of people and properties when it comes to flooding threats.

The Construction Industry Council were involved in the development of the report and state its key themes as being:

  • a coherent and growing demand
  • trusted and accessible products and services
  • trusted sources of information
  • reducing water run-off at property level
  • the regulatory and legislative framework
  • research and innovation to enable a thriving property flood resilience (PFR) market
