Chartered Membership (MCABE) recognises an individual’s professional competence as a fully qualified Building Engineer, which is demonstrated through a mix of academic qualifications and practical experience. MCABE demonstrates a clear commitment to high ethical standards, to cross sector collaboration and to continuous professional development. You also get access to the usual range of CABE benefits.
To achieve Chartered Member status, you must demonstrate that you meet the competencies mapped out in the Building Engineer Competency Framework which requires that you demonstrate robust technical competency and professional judgement. Please read the framework carefully to ensure this is the correct grade of membership for you.
Graduate Members with 12 months post graduate experience, those who wish to upgrade to Chartered Membership, are required to keep and submit a 12 months’ CABE portfolio diary which would then be followed by a professional interview.
