Terms and Conditions

1. The CABE Benevolent Fund Home Energy Support Scheme is open to all CABE Members in the UK, with at least two years’ paid membership and no outstanding membership fees. Only one application per household.

2. CABE Members can apply for a grant of £500 if they meet the following criteria and can provide supporting documents to prove this:

2.1 your household income (excluding benefits) is £45,000 or less; and
2.2 you reside in in the UK.

3. The grants will be issued from a limited fund. 

4. To qualify for the Scheme you must complete the Home Energy Support Scheme application form and provide the necessary information, this includes details of your household’s income, savings, and expenditure on Home Energy.

5. The address that is registered with CABE must be the address which you are claiming for and must correspond to the bank statements and home energy bills supplied as part of your application form.

6. The CABE Benevolent Fund Home Energy Support Scheme is not available to deal with any business matters concerned with practice, employment, or business failure, including the payment of annual subscriptions to professional bodies. 

7. Applicants should be aware that assistance may affect any State Benefit.

8. The Benevolent Fund Trustees reserve the right at any time to stop the scheme early and the allocated funds will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

9.
The trustees’ decisions are final.

10. The CABE Benevolent Fund (Ben Fund) is a registered charity (Registered Charity Number:1194181) whose objective is to provide help to members of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) who are in distress. The Ben Fund is a separate legal entity to the Chartered Association of Building Engineers Registered in London No. RC000867), and its affairs are managed by its own board of Trustees.

No Trustees are permitted to apply for any of these benefits
No Employees of CABE are permitted to apply for any of these benefits
No Board Members of CABE are permitted to apply for any of these benefits
 
How to apply 
Applications are assessed and approved by the Benevolent Fund Trustees.  

To apply please visit the Home Energy Support section on the CABE website, which will then direct you to a dedicated home energy assistance page.  When you have completed the application form and attached all the necessary documentation, please send this by e-mail to emergencybenfund@cbuilde.com.

If any additional information is required, we will contact you to request further information. If your application is unsuccessful, you will be advised in writing within two weeks. The CABE Benevolent Fund aims to provide funding paid directly into your nominated bank account within two weeks
 
For any more support from the CABE Benevolent Fund, CABE members will need to fill out the normal Benevolent Form and make a formal application for help.
