Home Energy

The cost of living across the UK has been surging, driven primarily by the rising price of necessities such as gas and electricity, but also food and fuel.

Since February 2022 the UK's average household energy bills have risen by 54%. Many UK households are now struggling to afford to heat their homes and provide hot water for their families. Building Engineers are not immune to the effects of these price increases.

In response to the raising cost of home energy bills, the CABE Benevolent Fund has established the Home Energy Support Scheme to help relieve the financial pressures that some CABE members might find themselves in.

The CABE Benevolent Fund has set aside an initial allocation of resources and grants will be issued on a first come first served basis. Terms and conditions apply

About the Scheme:

The Home Energy Support Scheme is open to all CABE Member's in the UK with two years' paid membership. Applicants who meet the criteria below will be awarded a one-off grant of £500. Support can only be offered to one CABE Member per household.

How you can help

"The CABE Benevolent Fund was set up to help in times of hardship, and it is hoped that the Home Energy Support Scheme will relieve some of the financial pressure for CABE Members and their families. We understand that not all members require support right now, and some of you may be in a position to help fellow building engineers. If that's you please consider donating to the CABE Benevolent Fund to help support this important work."

- Robert Biggs, Chair of the CABE Benevolent Fund (September 2022).
