Building Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor, Registration in Ireland

Letter of Support for Registration

Registering in the Republic of Ireland as a Building Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor, is restricted under the Building Control Act 2007 with the registration process managed by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI). CABE is listed within the act as a body where membership could indicate suitable competency to obtain registration.

To prove your competency as a Building Surveyor, or Quantity Surveyor, you can apply for a Letter of Support for Registration from CABE. This letter can then be used as part of your evidence for the SCSI.

To apply for a Letter of Support for Registration you will be asked to evidence

  • that you have worked for a least two years as a Building Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor
  • your extensive knowledge of Irish Legislation; and
  • your knowledge and experience under several key building surveying, or quantity surveying, competencies.
