Heating InitiativeAbout the Scheme:

The CABE Benevolent Fund has created the Heating Initiative to help ease the financial pressures associated with heating your home. The Heating Initiative is open to all CABE Member’s in the UK (with at least two years' paid membership) and those individuals who meet the scheme criteria will be awarded a one-off grant of £500. 

Support can be only awarded to one CABE Member per household and is limited to CABE Members only, dependents will not be included at this time.

 

Scheme Criteria

  • You must be aged 67 or over
  • you must have received the Winter Fuel Payment for the 2025/2026 winter
  • your annual household income (including benefits) is £25,000 or less; and
  • you reside in the UK.

How to apply:

To apply for the Heating Initiative, download the application form below and provide the relevant supporting evidence. As part of your application you will be asked to declare your financial information including your household income and savings. You will also need to provide proof that you are in receipt of the Winter Fuel Payment for the 2025/2026 winter.

Donate to the CABE Benevolent Fund

 

The CABE Benevolent Fund (‘Ben Fund') is a registered Charity (Registered Charity Number: 1194181) whose objective is to provide help to members of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (‘CABE’) who are in distress. The Ben Fund is a separate legal entity to the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (Registered in London No. RC000867) and its affairs are managed by its own board of Trustees. Any support (financial or otherwise) provided to the Ben Fund will be used exclusively by it, at the sole discretion of its Trustees.
