The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) wants to hear from YOU on how the construction industry can better tackle the challenges of poor mental health within the sector. CLC has opened a consultation which both details the findings of its recent focus groups across England, which sought to identify root causes for poor mental health in construction, and invites stakeholders for their views on what can be done to mitigate, or even eliminate, these causes. The responses to the consultation will then be analysed and fed into the development of an action plan to provisionally be published around spring 2026. This plan will focus on providing support and guidance to industry leaders and key stakeholders on what can collaboratively be done to tackle the root causes of people struggling with their mental health.
Mark Reynolds, Co-Chair of the Construction Leadership Council said: “As leaders in the built environment and construction sector, we have a collective responsibility to our workforce to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of our people. By working in partnership and being ambitious, we can drive improvements in mental health across the sector, ensuring a positive working environment for our current and future workforce. "Today’s consultation is a vital step in that journey, enabling us to bring together the views of industry in this space to inform our public Spring 2026 action plan. I would encourage you to respond and give us your views.”
The consultation will close on 5 November 2025 - take part by clicking here.
