Event Summary

The CABE Scottish Regional Committee are pleased to offer this online CPD to its members.

The Scottish Building Standards Hub will provide CABE members with an update on what the hub are doing to support transformation and quality in the building standards profession. 

The session will provide a whirlwind overview of the building standards system in Scotland, provide information and case studies of the peer review process which supports verifiers in assessing complex proposals, provide an overview of current information papers for verifiers and how these can be accessed, and provide an overview of the Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS) dispute resolution process which is administered by the hub. 

It will also discuss what the building standards profession are doing to assess and validate competence


Meet the Speaker 

Russell Watson, Scottish Standards Building Hub

 

Russell Watson is the Learning and Development Manager at the Scottish Building Standards Hub (SBSH).  He has experience working in senior building standards roles in both urban and rural authorities in Scotland and is a Fellow of CABE. 

The Scottish Building Standards Hub is an independent stand-alone specialist unit hosted within Fife Council supporting all 32 Scottish local authority building standards services.
