Overview
We spend about 90% of our time indoors across our lifetime, and the average family of four produces 112 pints of moisture per week, so ensuring that we ventilate right is of significant importance to ensure that everyone has access to healthy buildings. Historically, ventilation has been seen as an afterthought but as a result of uplifts to regulations within the last five years and beyond, the sector looks to be turning a corner. This webinar is designed to give a broad overview of what ventilation is, what regulations and standards are used within England, Wales and differences within Scotland and Northern Ireland to ensure good ventilation practices, increased awareness of indoor air quality levels and plans for the future.
Learning Objectives • understanding what ventilation is, the Approved Documents and Technical Standards currently used within the UK • getting to grips with the Future Homes and Buildings Standard and how has this affected the ventilation industry and building practices as a whole • looking at Scotland’s aims and what stands them apart from the rest of the UK, including what Passivhaus is and what it entails; and • understanding what’s on the horizon as we move towards 2030 and Net Zero.
