The Construction Industry Council UK (CIC) have released a press release today (14 July) announcing the reformation of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment (APPGEBE).

Now chaired by Mike Reader, Labour MP for Northampton South, the APPGEBE’s first order of business has been to launch a new inquiry into ‘How can we build 1.5 million quality homes in this Parliament?’, as per the UK government milestone listed within their Plan for Change.

Mike Reader MP was appointed to UK government as business champion for the construction sector in February.

The CIC has issued a call for evidence for the new inquiry in its capacity as supporter of the Secretariat for the APPGBE, and the commission started proceedings today, with the aim of publishing its inquiry report this autumn.
