CABE is pleased to welcome two new Lay Members to the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC). Sally Allbeury and Vicky Smith will be sitting on the PCC with immediate effect following successful interviews with members of the CABE Executive Team. The PCC is independent, reporting to the CABE Board and with the principal purpose of ensuring that the Association’s disciplinary procedures are conducted to the highest standards.     Sally Allbeury Sally has a deep and diverse background in regulatory, investigatory, and adjudicative roles across public service and professional regulation. Her experience includes serving as a Lay Tribunal Member for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, sitting as an Independent Panel Chair with the Parole Board, as an Ombudsman for the Financial Ombudsman Service, and as an Associate Investigator with the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. Sally’s career also includes senior leadership roles within the UK Border Force and Home Office, including national operational oversight, critical incident management, and investigative inspections on behalf of Parliament.     Vicky Smith Vicky brings to the PCC a wealth of legal and regulatory experience, honed over a distinguished career as a practising solicitor and tribunal Judge. She has served as Chair, Legal Assessor, and Lay Panel Member for leading organisations such as Social Care Wales, the Health and Care Professions Council, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Vicky also holds roles as an Independent Member on the Ministry of Defence’s Service Complaints Panel and the House of Commons Standards Committee.     CABE welcomes both Sally and Vicky to the PCC and is grateful for their expertise and service. The recruitment of new CABE Members to the PCC is ongoing. Full details on how the PCC operates can be found within the Terms of Reference.
