The Society for the Environment registers and champions professionals with proven competence in their environmental work.

Working in partnership with CABE and other professional bodies, SocEnv have awarded more than 7,500 professionals with Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) registration.

For environmental professionals independent of discipline, Chartership reflects a high level of skill and experience, setting Chartered Environmentalists apart from others working in their field.

What does it mean to be a Chartered Environmentalist?

SocEnv’s website profiles help to answer this question, spreading the word about the amazing everyday work of CEnv professionals.

Each profile features a leading professional and highlights their career journey towards achieving Chartership.

Among those featured is CABE Member Rory Henderson CEnv, Head of Net Zero at Rand Associates, who notes:

“Being awarded CEnv membership has been very positive for me personally and for my employer. It’s given me access to a network of other professionals and adds a significant distinction to the sustainability work that Rands do. If like me you are keen to demonstrate your professional commitment and environmental knowledge and experience, I would encourage you to pursue CEnv registration. I found the process of gaining CEnv very straightforward and easy to navigate. It was nowhere near as arduous as similar process that I’d gone through.”
