Interested in the next RICS External Wall Systems Assessment Training Programme?

Flats stock imageCABE Members meeting certain criteria have the opportunity to join this summer’s intake of applicants for the RICS External Wall Systems (EWS) Assessment Training Programme.

The RICS EWS Programme is an Ofqual Level 6 qualification for professionals seeking to specialise in assessing EWS. An online course, it provides the knowledge and skills required for conducting Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls and for completing EWS1 forms for low-rise, low-to-medium-risk buildings under 18m.

In order to be ready for the 2025 EWS Programme start date of 3 June, interested CABE Members can now pre-register with CABE in order to gain access. You must meet the following criteria:

 

  • be at MCABE, MCABE C.Builde E or FCABE C.Builde E grade
  • have at least ten years of industry experience
  • at least five of those ten years have been spent in the Building Control, Building Surveying or Fire Engineering disciplines; and
  • have completed the CABE Principles of Fire Safety training course*

 

The pre-enrolment cost to CABE is £325, which includes pre-qualification enrolment, a desktop assessment of experience and qualifications, and attendance on the CABE Principles of Fire Safety Training Course.

The qualification cost, payable to RICS, is £3250 +VAT.

*If you hold MIFireE or FIFireE with the Institution of Fire Engineers, you do not need to undertake this course to pre-register and the cost to do so will be £105.

I am a AIFireE and a Incorporated Fire Engineer - 00060796 with Institute of Fire Engineering. I have BEng in Fire Risk Engineering, in my Dissertation year of MSc in Fire Safety Engineering at UCLan and have 20 years firefighting in operational and fire safety management. I am the Fire Engineer for PRP LLP. I would like to enrol for the RICs external course
