CABE's Annual Building Control Survey is Now Open

For the past two years, CABE has surveyed members and professionals working in building control to gather their perspectives on the building control system in England and Wales.

The questions have focused on the changes to the building inspector profession and how well the industry was prepared for them.

This year, following significant regulatory reform which came into force on 1 October 2023 and the introduction of the legal requirement for Building Inspectors to register with the Building Safety Regulator (April 2024), the annual survey is changing its focus to understand how well these changes to the oversight of buildings has been understood by the industry and the long-term trends within the profession.

CABE Members and building inspector professionals are invited to take part and have their say on the building inspector profession.

The anonymous survey will only take a few minutes to complete and your feedback will help us to better understand your experiences of working within building control.

The survey will open on 15 January 2025 and close at 5pm on 21 February 2025.
