Welsh Government launches the country's first ever Timber Industrial Strategy

In response to the growing global demand for timber, the government in Wales has launched its first Timber Industrial Strategy.

The plan has been developed after years of collaboration with the Welsh timber sector, according to the Welsh government, and it ultimately aims to increase the scale, and value, of timber grown and products produced across Wales.

A key element in delivering the strategy will be having enough skilled workers to cope with an expanding industry, and so there are plans to work with Careers Wales and the Royal Forestry Society to engage with young people and show them the potential for careers within forestry.

The Welsh Government have produced a document detailing the Timber Industrial Strategy, which can be accessed via the policy and strategy page of their website.
