Avril Walsh and Dr Jim Bradley

CABE would like to congratulate Avril Walsh who has been awarded the CABE Best Final Year Student at the University of Limerick.

Avril completed a BSc (Hons) Construction Management and Engineering earlier this year and was nominated for the award by her professor, Dr Jim Bradley. Her final year project entitled ‘Investigating whether exposure to STEM subjects at secondary school affects female performance in a built environment degree programme’ has been selected for further development as well as being submitted to an academic journal.

Dr Bradley commented: “Avril has been an exceptional student… Her attendance at, and contribution to, lectures was exemplary, as was any coursework submitted and her performance in examinations.”

Upon learning of her win, Avril said: “The Construction Management and Engineering programme has given me a holistic view of the growing and ever-evolving construction sector in Ireland… Many thanks to Dr Jim Bradley for all his help and guidance throughout the years.”

CABE wishes Avril all the best for her future career.
