Building Control Professionals Survey

16 January 2024
In November/December 2022, CABE surveyed members working in building control to gather their perspectives on the building control system in England and Wales, their future plans, and their opinions on proposals for registering building inspectors.

Fast forward to January 2024, and registration for building inspectors is a reality, with three assessment schemes operating to provide certification for registration with the Building Safety Regulator. Furthermore, significant regulatory reforms came into force on 1 October 2023 marking a watershed in oversight of the built environment industries in England and Wales.

Last year's survey, focused on detailed questions relating to the proposals for building inspector registration, including class of registration and components of the Building Inspectors Competence Framework (BICoF).

This year we are interested in our members views on how well the industry is prepared for the ongoing changes that have now become law.

Long term trend questions relating to the building control profession will also be revisited to track emerging trends, and CABE are inviting opinions from not only our members, but also from building control professionals outside our membership.

The survey will be open from 10am on 15 January 2024 to 5pm on 23 February 2024.
