At CABE we believe that planning, undertaking, and recording CPD is a vital part of being a competent professional.

Taking the time to reflect on your own abilities and identify your knowledge gaps and developmental areas helps you to grow, assisting you in your career progression.

Chartered Members have always had to undertake and record 35 hours CPD a year*, and following a recent decision by the CABE Board, all non-chartered Grades - Associates, Graduates and Technicians will have to meet this obligation from
    1 January 2024.

What Does This Mean For Me?
If you are an Associate, a Technician or a Graduate Member you will now have to record your CPD as a condition of your membership.
Your CPD year will run from 1 January to 31 December 2024, and you will have 12 months starting from January 2024 to ensure you record 35 hours of CPD on the CABE
    Community.

Your first CPD log needs to be completed and ready for audit by 31 December 2024 and failure to comply could result in disciplinary procedures.

There are no changes for Chartered Members WHO are still required to upload 35 hours CPD by 31 December 2023.   Find out more about CPD **CABE Members are obliged to undertake 35 hours of CPD a year, 105 hours over three years.
What Activities Count as CPD?
CPD is not just attending training courses, seminars and webinars. CPD can be gained through personal study, remote learning and professional
affairs. For it to count as CPD you need to be able to identify your learning outcomes.

Where Can I Record My CPD?
You can log your CPD within your member profile on the CABECommunity. You can choose to upload
individual activities or upload your year's CPD record in one go via the CABE CPD template.

Should I Create a Personal Development Plan?
A Personal Development Plan (PDP) allows you to reflect on your current knowledge and skills allowing you to identify any gaps in your experience or learning. It helps you to tailor your CPD activities and ultimately allows you to maximise your learning outcomes.

PDPs keep you on track, helping you to identify your areas of development and track your growth. Download our template below and remember to upload this onto your CPD record via the CABE
    Community.
