CABE’s Building Inspector Competence Assessment Scheme (CBICAS) is now open for existing CABE members.

The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) approved scheme follows three key stages;

Stage 1 – application and career portfolio submission
Stage 2 – submission of Technical Report and competence statements; and
Stage 3 – two-part Technical Report interview and Professional Review Interview.

Successful completion will provide CABE members with the necessary certification to register with the BSR.

Applicants should now download and complete the Stage 1 application form, providing all of the supporting information and their CPD record.

Full information on the scheme can be found in the CBICAS Complete Guide for Classes 2, 3 and 4.

Hi Gareth You do not need to use the CABE CPD template, but if you decide to use your in-house record please make sure that all the headings on the CABE Template are covered in the record. This will ensure that all the information we require is included in your CPD Record and will prevent any hold-up in your application.

Hi Steven You need to provide evidence for all of the Level 4 competencies. For those competencies that relate to management experience, you need to use examples to prove that you have relevant managerial experience, demonstratinh how you meet the competence.

Section H of the application form mentions case study projects for levels 2, 3 and 4. When applying for level 4 are all of the case studies to be of construction projects or do we need to include case studies to describe relevant management experience too?

Is the CPD template mandatory or can we provide our own in CPD house record, as this would save a great deal of time.
