The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) has released an ebulletin containing the below updates for the built environment.

  • Free webinars to watch on demand: the BSR recently hosted a series of free webinars which can be accessed online to watch back. The webinars aim to provide knowledge on the changing landscape of building safety across England and Wales, offering practical guidance on application procedures, remediation, domestic client building works and regulation of building control as a profession.

Take a look through the selection of recordings here.

  • BSR charging scheme: the BSR charging scheme has been changed, coming into effect from 1 April 2025. This includes a 5% inflationary increase in hourly charges. The scheme details chargeable functions, activity triggers, who is liable for payment plus a breakdown of costs, annexes and information on resolving disputes.

See the scheme details via the Making Buildings Safer campaign website.

  • Regulated Professions Register: the UK government hold a Regulated Professions Register which is accessible to the public to help them understand the entry requirements needed for various professions. Regulated Building Inspectors have now been added to this register.

    Access further details here.

  • Principal Accountable Persons (PAPs) survey: BMG Research recently circulated a survey to all registered PAPs to consult on how risk is managed in HRBs. The findings will help the BSR to understand the PAP’s role in risk management. Any PAPs who would like to be resent the survey link, or have queries before completing the survey, can email HRBsurvey@bmgresearch.com
