Construction Industry Council launch Competence Framework for Sustainability in Built Environment

27 February 2025
Posted by: Lauren Almey

CIC logoToday (27 February), the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Edge, a built environment think tank, have published the Competence Framework for Sustainability in the Built Environment, to underpin the development of discipline-specific sustainability competence requirements across the built environment and the natural sector.

As per the CIC, the Framework has three core aims:

  • set core criteria for achieving sustainability
  • facilitate the development of sector-specific competence frameworks; and
  • support a consistent approach to competence frameworks across the industry.

The intention is for this to reach a host of organisations engaged in competence requirements for specific roles across the sector, such as clients, contractors, manufacturers and regulators.

The documentation can be accessed here.

You can also sign up for a FREE webinar, hosted by the CIC, which will introduce and guide you through the Framework on Wednesday 12 March at 1pm.

Register your attendance via Zoom here.
