Northern Ireland: Dept of Finance webinars to support with forthcoming new fire safety regulations

The Department of Finance in Northern Ireland is hosting two webinars in January 2025 to highlight the forthcoming introduction of new fire safety regulations coming into effect on 6 May 2025.

For residential buildings, local building regulations are being updated to improve fire safety standards. As per the Department, the new requirements include provision of fire safety information for most premises undergoing work, the introduction of evacuation alert systems, secure information boxes, way-finding signage and appropriate fire suppression systems in new high-rise residential buildings.

To support the industry in understanding and preparing for these changes, the Department will run webinars on both 16 and 23 January, 10am, and all building control professionals operating in Northern Ireland are encouraged to register for either. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the sessions.

For the background on these updates, and to sign up for your preferred webinar date, go to the article on the Department of Finance's website here.

You will also find other resources to further explain the regulatory changes, and other related content, at that same link.
