Welsh Government Announces Building Control Transitional Provision

15 March 2024   (0 Comments)

Earlier this week the Welsh Government released a circular on the New Commencement and transitional regulations supporting the Building Safety Act 2022.

The circular provides clarification to professionals working within Building Control on the transitional provisions that are being introduced.

This provision includes allowing building inspectors who are registered at Class 1, and enrolled in a competence assessment scheme, to continue to working at the class of work that are applying for until 1 October 2024.

Any building inspector who has not registered at Class 1 and not enrolled in a competence assessment scheme will not be able to undertake restricted activities and functions from 6 April 2024.
