Future Homes and Building Standards Consultation
14 December 2023
The UK Government is committed to improving the energy efficiency of homes and non-domestic buildings. To help inform how they should implement the Future Homes Standards they have opened a public consultation which outlines the proposed changes to Part 6 (Energy Efficiency Requirements), Part L (Conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (Ventilation) of the Building Regulations. The Government envisages that these changes will deliver zero carbon homes - homes that will produce no carbon emissions once the electricity grid is decarbonised. The Future Homes Standard is due to be introduced in England in 2025, and now is the time to have your say on how these changes could work in practice. Take part in the consultation on the UK Government's website. The consultation closes on 6 March 2024.
