Welsh Government (Llywodraeth Cymru) have published a draft Building Inspector Competence Framework (BICoF) document.
Building control professionals and private sector building control organisations will have to register with the regulatory authority to perform building control work in Wales.
The draft BICoF has been introduced to provide a clear and structured framework for those within the building control profession in Wales to demonstrate their competence.
Building Engineers working in building control can receive their competence verification from Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), and through this process, professionals can take an important step towards registration as a Registered Building Inspector (RBI).
