TTD, a leading provider of Building Control related NVQs, as well as Construction Site Management qualifications, offers a whole range of qualifications for those working in the built environment.
TTD prides itself on being able to offer qualifications for individuals at all stages of their career.
Over a number of weeks TTD have been working with CABE looking at the learning outcomes of TTD’s NVQ courses and how they
align with the CABE Membership Competency Frameworks. As a result of this stringent process CABE accredited two courses:
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Building Control Technical Support is ideal for individuals who are currently in an administration role in a Building Control department and who are looking to develop their career. Once students have completed the NVQ and have
at least one years' work experience in the industry, they will be able to apply for CABE Technician Members (Tech CABE).
Successful completion of the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Building Control, and two years’ relevant work experience,
allows the student to apply for Associate Members (ACABE) with CABE, allowing them to start on the CABE Membership pathway towards Chartered Member (MCABE).
TTD offer a number of courses, including the-new ABBE Level 4 Diploma in
Building Control in Site Inspection and Plan Assessment and ABBE Level 2 Certificate in Building Control Business Support and Customer Care. It is hoped that these qualifications will gain CABE accreditation later in the year.
Barfoot, Learning, Education and Academic Director at CABE, said: “I recently had the pleasure to lead the CABE accreditation panel for accreditation of TTD’s NVQ Diploma. The CABE panel were impressed with TTD’s personal commitment to the success
of their learners and their knowledge of and enthusiasm for Building Control, and the future of Building Control.”
David Barley, Head of Training and Development at Total Training and Development Ltd said: “Our strong links with
CABE give employers and students the reassurance that all of the programmes offered by TTD are designed, developed and delivered to meet the highest possible standards, as required by CABE.”
CABE partners with academic institutes
and assessment centres around the world and accredits a wide range of courses. By working with partners, like TTD, CABE can help build the next generation of professionals.
This is good news for CABE, and I believe; as a Chartered Engineering Association and not a Surveying one, we should consider widening our scope from mainly Building Control Engineers and Architectural Technicians; to include Construction (Project) Management, Civil, Environmental and Structural Engineering, to name just a few. In my view we are in a good place to surpass the CIOB and become a more popular choice for construction professionals, especially now we have UK Engineering Council full membership status. Keep up the good work CABE. Onward's and Upward's.
