New Faces Welcomed at CABE

CABE is delighted to welcome Ian McLaughlan as its new Head of Membership. Ian, has recently returned to the UK from New Zealand, and has joined the Association at an exciting time as CABE continues to grow in membership across the UK, Ireland, and overseas.
He will be responsible for developing the delivery of Engineering Council registrations, ensuring that procedures and processes are developed and implemented to the strict standard required, as well as creating procedures that support the delivery of CABE’s strategic plans.
Alongside this, Ian will ensure that the membership team continues to deliver exceptional service to members and partners throughout the world.
Ian commented “I am excited to join CABE at this time. Maintaining professional competence and knowledge has always been something that I have been passionate about; and this role will allow me to help professionals in the construction industry gain recognition”
In further developments at the CABE Hong Kong office Mable Hung has joined the team as Hong Kong Administrator. Working alongside Vivian Sie, Hong Kong General Manager, Mable will provide administrative support for the organisation of CPD events, membership enquiries and professional interviews in Hong Kong. Following the opening of the Hong Kong office earlier this year activity in the region has increased including the first ever CPD training event being hold in the region.
Ian McLaughlan – Head of Membership
Ian joined CABE as the Head of Membership services after recently arriving back to the UK from New Zealand. Ian is experienced in customer service, business development and working within not-for-profit membership organisations. He has a strong background in people and change management with professional training and coaching skills.
In New Zealand, Ian was Training and Development Manager of the National Restaurant Association, a position that encompassed membership training for the industry, apprenticeships and management. Whist in this role, Ian was responsible for the design, implementation and quality assurance of all training. Before his move to New Zealand, Ian was a Quality Assurer for a large national apprenticeship provider and managed the quality of academic delivery within a large team of assessors.
He is excited to join CABE and is looking forward to leading the membership team to support our members.
Mable Hung – Hong Kong Administrator
Prior to joining CABE, Mable worked in the Joint Secretariat of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Architects Registration Board, HKSAR, for 29 years. She is adept at multi-tasking with good interpersonal and communication skills, which demonstrates her ability to work professionally as a good team player.
