Government Updates to Job Retention Scheme


The Government announced on 12 June that employers can begin to bring furloughed employees "back to work for any amount of time and any work pattern, while still being able to claim the grant for the hours not worked."

Claims for July cannot be submitted before 1 July and from July, only employees that were given previous grants for a minimum of three consecutive weeks between 1 March and 30 June, will be eligible under the scheme going forward.

As of 1 August employers will being contributing towards the cost of furloughed employees wages.
