Since I have taken up the position of Chairman for the CABE Hong Kong Chapter, I would like to give some updates on the developments here and wish everyone a safe and productive April.
COVID-19 has been a real challenge for all of our members, in terms of learning and adapting to new ways of working both in our professional and personal lives. It is important to stay positive, we need to learn from this global crisis and further explore more dynamic solutions, whilst continuing to communicate valuable information and services with our members and stakeholders.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) Registration
Many CABE members in Hong Kong have acted fast to register interest in becoming Chartered Engineers (CEng). The CABE membership team hasreceived an overwhelming response from more than 550 CABE members working in different cities and regions, and most of them are CABE members in Hong Kong. Please be assured that your CEng registration will be assessed on a case-by-case basis in line with UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). We won't miss any opportunities to keep the interested members updated on CEng requirements, procedures etc, and might consider applying online technology to conduct the briefing session to CABE members in Hong Kong.
Meeting CABE Members and Visiting Academic Partners
I would like to express my gratitude to members, local academic partners, and allied institutions in Hong Kong for the messages of welcome that I have received upon my appointment as Chairman of this CABE chapter. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few members who wish to volunteer with CABE in various professional aspects, such as interview panellists, CPD seminars, bridging local tertiary institutes, etc. I am forming a General Committee and look forward to receiving support and enthusiasm from these members.
Lapsed Members in Hong Kong
I would like to invite the lapsed members to consider re-joining us. Having visited the past membership information,Ms Vivian Sie has started to get in touch with the lapsed members by phone and by e-mail. We ask of our members, that if you should you know any lapsed members, to please share with themCABE’s exciting developments on CEng as well as regular CPD initiatives.
CABE will offer you an Amazon coupon of£50.00 if you have successfully invited a non-member to join CABE. For details, please contact Ms Vivian Sie of CABE Hong Kong Chapter via firstname.lastname@example.org or +852 3915 7511.
