The results of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) 2020 Board Elections have been announced.
Our congratulations go to Mr Joseph Birt FCABE, for being elected as Vice-President, and will go on to become President of the Association in May 2022.
Mr Birt has worked within the Local Authority Building Control for over 22 years, and is currently the Technical Director at QUAM Consulting Ltd. He has been involved with the CABE Northern Ireland Region for many years and has volunteered as the chairman; he is currently the region’s Treasurer.
In addition, congratulations go to Mr Dan Fordham FCABE and Mr Russell Urwin FCABE for being elected as Non-Executive Directors.
Mr Fordham has over 24 years of experience in structural engineering and is the founder and Managing Director at Fordham Consulting Ltd. Mr Urwin has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years, predominantly on a range of new build, refurbishment and repurposing projects. He plays an active role within the Association, and has been Chairman of the Northern Region for 5 years.
“CABE prides itself on being representative of its members, owned by its members, run by its members, and this annual process of electing members to serve on the board and leadership of the Association provides a critical link between the members and the activities of the Association.”
Dr Gavin Dunn FCABE, CABE Chief Executive
Thank you to all our eligible members who took the time to vote; and an even bigger thank you to everyone who ran for election even if you were not successful on this occasion.
We hope all our members will join us in wishing our new Vice-President and Non-Executive Directors well in their task ahead.
Joseph, Daniel and Russell will be joining the Board in May 2020.
