This Webinar by Gerry Ruffles of MOBIE will look at their education pathway and the offsite ready train the trainer modules and materials that they are developing as part of a CITB funded project along with the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre.  

Speaker bio

Gerry Ruffles is Head of Education for MOBIE with responsibility for their Education Pathways, Further and Higher Education courses, CPD training programmes and designing and running their student challenges. He has been with MOBIE since its inception in 2017.  

Before MOBIE his career in Higher Education spanned over twenty five years, lecturing, writing and running courses in Construction and the Built Environment, Design and Architecture and Building Services.  He has served as an external examiner for various colleges and universities and been a BTEC and Higher Nationals writer with Pearson.

After a degree in Industrial Design at Northumbria University Gerry worked in product, furniture and interior design in both the private and public sector before establishing a Design and Build company delivering new builds, conversions, restorations, design and project management. Whilst practising as a designer he gained membership of the Chartered Society of Designers and for several years was the Chair of the North East Region of the CSD and later Chair of the Societies Regional Board.

He lives in rural North East England, with his wife, an artist and family nearby. Gerry is a keen supporter of Sunderland Football Club and spends his spare time running and walking over the local hills and moors.
